09 SepBooks & Stuff

As I was sitting in the bathtub reading What Einstein Told His Cook: Kitchen Science Explained, I realized something new last night. It’s not so much that I don’t like fiction, as I don’t like grown-up fiction so much. I love nearly beyond words reading children’s fiction to M1. I really wanted to sneak into the bedroom & read ahead in the book I’m reading to her right now, but that seems terribly wrong somehow.

The only “serious” grown-up fiction author I really like is Jeanette Winterson. And for totally, incredibly fluffy fiction, the “Cat Who” series by Lilian Jackson Braun. But fiction beyond that? Doesn’t usually even occur to me to look for it…

Weird.
