Random Friday Evening Update
My hair is getting long again. I think it’s gone into the “too long” length. I don’t feel like cutting it either though. I do, just not enough to get around to getting the scissors & snipping until everything is even again.
Was kind of a rough week. Parts really sucked. We’re watching the top 100 greatest 80s videos now & that’s entertaining. Ooh, Duran Duran upcoming! SQUEEEE!
Been listening to a lot of the Gits, 7 Year Bitch, Hammerbox. < sigh > They’re so dreamy…
Ooh! Crap. I need to frost the cake for M1’s b-day party tomorrow. Huh.
Law librarianship has sounded entertaining lately. Parts of it. Of course: so does the spa. Especially the funny hat. The temptation to borrow a hat figure out how to make one & then make one for a number of people for the winter holiday season is extraordinarily strong. But I won’t do that because that’s not how I roll. At least not the borrowing (and subsequently discreetly returning). If I can figure out how to make one though… all bets are off on the making of a bunch of them.
I’ve missed the last few LRCs (no, not library resource centers) because of other stuff going on & that makes me sad. I miss going. October’s gotta work out. I hope.
Learned a new domain specific phrase today — “cookie licker”. Someone else will get to come up with the unutterably dry definition but the gist is a coworker who won’t let anyone else work on their project, the reference being the kid who prevents other kids from eating the cookies by — yes — licking them.
Have had a sore temptation to throw a we’ve-had-this-house-on-the-market-so-fucking-long-it’s-time-for-a-party party. The first year we were in this house, we had a house warming. Our friends came up from PDX, and a couple from the co-op. We invited around 40? people. When ever we do anything, we look at each other and say, “if we threw one would anyone show up?” And then, it’s hitting rainy season & there isn’t all that much room inside so… eh. meh.
Did I say I started twitter in a fit of boredom? I did. Same there as here. But pithier. Ok, not really. Just a lot more aimlessly concise.
