New Year’s Eve
Last night P honey-glazed a ham hock for dinner. Tonight we are using the remains for ham hock split pea soup. OM NOM NOM NOM.
I’m also using the remains of the little red mashed potatoes with fancy stuff in it to make rosemary potato bread. Also OM NOM NOM NOM.
And we have left over German chocolate cupcakes for dessert. Because that’s just how we roll around here sometimes.
I think my brain has been working on something in the far back, simmering on that distant burner. Thinking up front about things this entire vaca has been pretty much out the door. I hope my brain comes back from whatever it’s working on back there when I need to go back to work because I kind of need it.
…
The essential OM NOM NOM NOMness of ham hock split pea soup & rosemary potato bread has been confirmed. And now my brain has completely vacated & I really don’t have anything else to say except Happy New Year (when that time rolls around)!
Edited to note: Bee just said the very nicest thing ever about me! I’m honored & flattered.
Also, M2 has been hunting fairies all day. She & her sister’s little bottle with purple sparkles & the tiny fairy net have apparently caught “Four! Fairies! But I let them go because I didn’t want them to get mad at me.” Too too too sweet.
