Random Sunday Morning

One of my favorite visions of this holiday break is M2 the other day decked out in full princess regalia (gown, crown, & all) playing happily with the train set she also got for Xmas moving tracks around laughing hysterically when the trains got enough speed up to go crashing through the turn & barrier at the curve. Reminds me of the time when she was only about 2.5 (for those who haven’t been following along, she turns 5 in February already!) and she was a pixie for Halloween marching along in her tiny white pixie costume pointing out all the massive dump trucks barreling by us with her wand.

M1 is becoming quite an artist. And writer. She’s writing a lot of poems on her own, and periodically she writes stories. She may well join P on a nanwrimo one of these years. Or maybe not. Both M1 & M2 spend a lot of time with their art supplies. Right now they’re “cleaning” though. There’s something about windex & kids that is alarming. Our windows will be… interesting.

I suppose I should get up & start helping with the cleaning. We have company coming today. Multiple b-day celebrations & all since P, my s-i-l, & I all have December b-days. And today coincidentally happens to be my b-day.

I’m rather thinking that for the upcoming year I should adopt Jaina Bee’s resolution, “Today is the fanciest day of my life.” I like that. I don’t really do resolutions, but this one seems almost irresistible.

There’s music that’s missing from my iPod nano. Mark Lanegan & Isobel Campbell, for starters. Also, Big Country because… I can. And lots of other stuff too. It will be interesting to see what I end up playing on it.

I think I need to eat today before 1pm. That’s been getting to be a bad habit that needs to stop. And so, in fanciness, I bid you adieu!
