Interesting Evening

Company party. Goddamn I like the people I work with. I also like the fact that several of the senior partners really like our team… and we like them as well. One of my favorites being the fellow who helped develop Access & when he wants to unwind bills as a SQL dev for “fun.” He actually gets our jokes, & we his. He’s moved to a new focus lately & into the other building away from us & away from sharing an office with the other partner he used to work closely with. He told P & I tonight that he feels like he’s been through a divorce & the other partner got the fancy house & the children & he had to go get the crappy apartment & that he misses us. Awwww. And then there’s my ever-so-fabulous team members & their significant others & friends. Best evar.

This marks a very huge evening for P & I. Super-huge even, so I’d like you all to take careful note: The children are with the grandparents tonight. This is the first whole night that the two of us have had, alone together, with no children in the house since M1 was born September 16, 1998. Now, I hear I have a bath run & after an evening of standing around in four inch heels on cement, a hot bath is going to feel very, very good.
