Funny Conversations In My Life Lately

This weekend, P & I were up late talking. M2 comes ambling into the bedroom, mostly asleep. We weren’t quite ready to be joined by her presence, so I carried her snuggly-sleepy self back into her bedroom, all the while cooing at her, “Love you M2, such my sweet girl, but it’s too early for you to come into our room, you need to sleep a little longer in your room, my sweet little monkey moonshine M2 girl.” No fuss no muss. Usually she protests. She didn’t really seem quite awake, she snuggled back down into her bed & seemed to be quite asleep even before I finished tucking her in. Went back into my room & snuggled back down & we started talking again, “She didn’t really ever wake up to come in here, did she?” “No, not really, it seemed.” Within three minutes she ambled back in again. “M2 — Mama & Daddy are still talking!” She responds with the innocence & gentleness & sweetness & loving acceptance only a small child can muster, “That’s fine, Mommy, I don’t mind,” as she climbs up & burrows down under the blankets next to me, already so comfy & content as to be nearly asleep again already.
