Fancy
M1 seems to be under the impression that she’d like to get her ears pierced. That’s fine with me. We’ve talked about the fact that said earring goes through the ear. I’ve told her that I don’t really think using a gun is a good idea for both hygiene reasons (can’t be sterilized) & I found the gun more painful than any of the various sorts of needles I used (including safety pins) because it doesn’t puncture a clean hole, but uses blunt force to jam its way through the tissue. She’s decided she wants it done with needles & captive ball rings.
That’s my girl!
That said, I don’t want to be there when they get the first needle half way through & she decides that it hurts & starts in on her drama queen thing. I suspect that the whole ear piercing thing will be harder for me than it is for her, if only because I’ll have to live with her through the healing process.
Having gone the [safety pin/sewing needle/sharp pointy implement at hand] route for all but the time I got it done professionally with a needle & the time I went to a piercing hut and allowed them to use a stoopid gun, I have no idea where to walk in with my kid & say “She wants her ears pierced.” I mean, I’m sure any tattoo place that also does piercing will take my money, but you know, biohazard stuff makes me inclined to research it all a little more than that.
We’ll see. It’s come & passed before, perhaps it will pass again.
