Apparently Life Wasn’t Complicated Enough

M1 wasn’t feeling well last night & managed to throw up, so I kept her home from school today so she’d feel well enough to go to her playdate with her best friend tomorrow that they’ve been looking forward to for Two! Whole! Weeks!

Tonight I tossed her & M2 in the bathtub because both of them needed a little bit of cleaning up. That’s when I saw it. The perfect, classic, chicken pox lesion on M1’s neck. And then another on her shoulder. And another on her shoulder blade. And one just sprouting on her forehead. Since her bath, she’s sprouted a few more — two that she’s found on her scalp, at least one in her mouth (which really upsets her), and a random splattering of about 12 more on her arms & legs. Totally classic raised water blisters. Of course, five minutes later it occurs to me that M2 is now rubbing the wash cloth I just used to wipe the water out of M1’s eyes all over her stomach. So I guess in about two weeks, we’ll get a little more chicken pox “love”.

notes when he called to call off the play date that he had her crying in one ear while her little friend was crying into the phone as he was talking to the mama. Of course, today some realtor called to bring some folks by, so we ditched the house & went out on the town. Bookstores, went and did a little clothes shopping… I guess at least it’s not Typhoid… It will complicate the message I leave on our answering machine a little though.

Don’t know what this means for attending my Gramma’s memorial next Thursday. I guess we’ll play it by ear & hope M1 is scabbed over & M2 isn’t showing evidence of symptoms yet. Oh Good Times.

Another thing notes that I have to concur with: Some day I will look back on this & laugh. That day can’t come soon enough.
