We have a full pantry, including fresh cilantro & fresh artisan bread. Need to figure out what to do with all that, but particularly the cilantro & bread, for dinner.

In other news, I’m a little disappointed that the Be Good Tanyas & the Wailin’ Jennys are so serious and earnest. One thing I really like about the Dolly Ranchers is that you can tell they’re having FUN. Sure not on every song, but there’s a sense of… fun unconventionality (? for lack of a better description at the moment) across the album I’ve got. That’s not to say the first two aren’t lovely & nice music & stuff, but it’s kinda The Mountain, wymyn-y. Nothing in them makes me go, “Oh yay fun, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” If you got a banjo, and even a fiddle!, at some point you gotta tear it up a little bit, or what’s the point? This all said on the first two listens to the three albums I’ve got. Maybe they just haven’t grown on me yet. At the moment I’m thinking may as well listen to Mary Black. Actually, at this point I had about all I could take of mellow, folk-y, serious, earnest stuff &, since the Dolly Ranchers are out in the car, I put on X. Now they might be fun with a banjo (hmmm, in retrospect, they did that & called themselves the Knitters… heh. I really love X).
