Big day at work. Not so much in the actual work getting done, as big stuff happening. It will be interesting to see where it all leads to. I have a meeting tomorrow morning with the senior partner of our division. Ostensibly to discuss one thing, but in fact it appears I have three things to discuss with him now. We’ll see…
Last night I stayed up & started reading Wapsi Square from the very beginning. I finished it some time this afternoon. So good, but waaahhhgggaahhhh! Now I have to wait every single day for the new one to come out the next day! All day long!
In other news, I hate-hate-hate two of the pieces I’m working on for guitar right now. Hate them. They’re basic three note, thumb-index-middle finger, arpeggios, not a problem, I’ve been doing them for 20+ years (jeebus I’m old!), but I can’t make these pieces sound like music — they just sound like a bunch of random notes all stuck together. I can’t make melody or sense of these pieces & they’re driving me crazy. I am sorely tempted to skip them entirely… but I know from experience that it’s the pieces I hate the most that I probably also have the most to learn from. Sometimes I hate being old & having perspective.
This weekend we’re taking my mom to a classical guitar concert for her birthday at the Frye. We’re taking the girls. M1 I’m not worried about. M2… I have some concerns. But she loves music & I think as long as we bring a notebook/coloring book & some colored pencils, we should be ok… and if not
Seems to me there was something else I had to note, but I can’t remember what it is. In lieu of that bit of information, I will substitute the fact that we finally joined netflix & have been watching Star Blazers ‘cuz that’s how we roll.
