Diablo, Puffy, & the Rest
It came early, so tomorrow’s family expedition isn’t a surprise anymore, but that’s ok. Some time, mid-last-week, it seemed like the exactly right thing to do would be adopt P a wolf & take him out of the city and out to the wolf sanctuary to see it, or, if not it, then ones like it. Thus, Diablo joins our list of household critters, except he stays down at the sanctuary, cuz, you know, wild animal & all. There’s a link to Diablo’s bio on P’s ElJay entry regarding this matter.
Finally got a little fizzishle for the girls’ room. It’s a dwarf puffer fish which has unsurprisingly been named, by M1, “Puffy” in holding with completely unimaginative names for pets. She gets that from me — I think every last goldfish I had as a child was named “Goldy,” at least until I got a little older & started naming them after things like, sushi, sashimi, lutefisk, etc, etc. I sincerely hope this sweet little puffer will acclimate to the tank & not die promptly. It’s always so hard to say with fish until they’ve survived… All the other fish seem to be doing fine. I’m still endlessly entertained by all of them, especially the bumblebee cat fish — such a funny little dude!
The cats are the cats. M2 is still loving them in he own special way, poor kitties. M1 told me we need a kitten named “Buttercup.” An orange kitten named “Buttercup.” I told her we weren’t getting another kitten until one of the three we already have dies & that’s going to be some time away yet.
The turtle is hangin’ out doin’ her thing, just like she has been for, oh, the last 16+ years. Sweet girl.
It’s good to have critters in the house. It would be a much emptier little house with out them.
