All day — it being Friday — that was the question. “So, Susan, what are you doing this weekend?”
So what *am* I doing this weekend? I pretty much figured that I’d be taking The Girls to swimming lessons & M1 has a party on Sunday… but you know what the answer is? What I’m Doing This Weekend? I am WEEDING. I really, badly need to weed. I went out to dump the aquarium water and realized there are weeds that are shoulder high in our front gardens. The oregano is up to my knees. We have thyme that’s fleeing the planter, there are strands that are easily 24 inches long. The rose bushes are considerably taller than me and bushy bushy bushy, and the miniature lilac bush is not so miniature & is growing way over into one of my many rosemary bushes. It’s a jungle out there! I don’t want to tame the jungle, but I definitely need to weed those shoulder high weeds. Also I have a ridiculous amount of lemon balm — anyone have something good to do with it? It smells so good. When I’m done with the front gardens, I need to do the foot wide dirt strip along our driveway so that I can find the mint again. I’m sure it’s there, but the mallow, false indigo, woodruff & stinkweed are challenging it. I should probably organize the daisies & calendula in front too — right now it’s all just kind of in a random chunky overgrown patch (are you sensing a theme yet?).
And after that, maybe a shower then a nice soak in the hot tub, which has even recently been cleaned!
All this supposing that it’s not pouring down rain all weekend. I hope it doesn’t because now I’m kind of excited to go out & play in the dirt…
