Father’s Day & Other Random Stuff
Yesterday was lovely. We went to a different beach & waded around in the low tide & tide pools. Saw sea anenomes, starfish, a lone sad little crab, a fried-egg jellyfish, and lots of little darting fish. I waded out up to my knees in some v. big waves as the spit was going down in the rising tide & got my (rolled up, even!) pants wet. Which, I suppose, is no surprise. Me being me & all that. Then we had a light lunch on the beach & came home. Girls napped & then off to Gramma & Grampa’s.
We had a nice visit there. Traffic was no where as dreadful as we feared it might be. In either direction, actually. We ate dinner outside. There was only one wasp. And it showed up too late for dinner. Yay! I brought the warm snugglies for M2 & changed her into them before we headed home.
When she woke up around 2:45, she was so very hot so I changed her into a t-shirt & she’s still asleep up there even now — sleeping in for her! Then at 4:45 or so M1 woke up sobbing with an ear ache. I hate the ear ache song & dance. Poor baby is so clearly miserable, she’s terrified to go to the doctors, terrified to take anything that might help relieve the pain (like, oh, tylenol or benadryl or antibiotics)… but I managed to get some tylenol into her & we’ll see what the doctor says later today. I hate ear aches. Hate them, hate them, hate them. But at least she’s asleep for now again… hopefully stuff has kicked in and is helping her feel better.
So I’ve been up for way too long today already. I think I need some caffiene. But yesterday was nice.
