AWOL
And it feels good. 18 hours a day in front of a computer just is not a good thing. And it shows. I haven’t read the entirety of my bloglines for… nearly a week now. It’s been fabulous.
Not so fabulous is the plague. M1 is better now. Thankfully. Sick kids are so sad. But she’s got her sparkle back now. The giggling returned yesterday. It’s hard to imagine how much that sound was missed. M2 still seems to have whatever plagues me, but she’s pretty chipper, so that’s not as bad as it could be. I have a tickle in my throat & it’s driving me crazy. I’ve resorted to cough drops. Why, oh why do cough drops taste like ass*? (*Need to qualify that statement with another that I am not an authority of what ass tastes like). Meh. And, hot steamy showers cause me to wonder just how much of the skull the sinuses take up, as so much snot came out that I am certain the human brain is nowhere near as large as the scientists say.
In other news, moved from spinning & plying the pink & sparkly thread to crocheting it into a hat for Marian. Sparkles for my Sparkle-Plenty girl.
And, three sick days this week, and all the rest of the year off means last Friday was my last day of work for the year! I’d say it’s positively decadent, but being sick & taking care of sick kids is very hard work and not so entertaining. But today was decadent, even with the snot, and I expect every day through the 3rd will be pretty decadent. Ahhh. No school. No work (well, not the kind I get paid for). Just the parenting gig. And the kids are pretty durn cute. Back to being awol.
