Seconds to Spare

Between class & the wedding this afternoon. Need desperately to decompress from one & get into the mood for the next.

P’s Mom is staying with us for the next couple days. She’s coming to the wedding with us. It will be a dry wedding. My cousin is marrying a pastor. The suffering will be enormous for us non-religious, alcohol drinkin’ types, but there will be some like-minded people there (my brother notably) so we should be able to at least find something in common to chat about. P refused to buy a hip flask so we could spike *our* punch anyway. Oh well. Perhaps my brother will explain, again, in great detail, with demonstrations, how to “gleek” to my mother-in-law or something equally amusing. He’s usually good for some entertaining anecdotes. Marian is wildly excited to be a flower girl. “I have waited my Whole Life for this!”

Class this morning:
Ok, I’m getting excited about school again. The instructor is Australian. She Has Fabulous Shoes. I turned to the woman sitting next to me & said as much. Her response: “Always.” I want to go shoe shopping with her. No, I don’t know what that has to do with information literacy, but there it is anyway. Oh. And she drinks tea. So civilized.

I’m fidgety. I hate the downtime in really busy days. I don’t have time to start anything, nor the attention span. Maybe I will go play with my long hair & put it into many braids & then into a big, intimidatingly complex bun rather than my usual simple tidy twist. Maybe that will make up for the fact that I don’t think I’m going to wear a dress because they all make me look rather cow-like, whereas the outfit I’m currently wearing is much more flattering & sufficiently formal. I think. Probably more convenient for hauling small squirrelly children around in too.

Fidget fidget fidget. Off to play with my hair & put sparkles on Marian. Hahahahahahaha!
